Military Health System Research Symposium (MHSRS)
Recently, a host of LIMBIC-CENC researchers joined 3700 other eminent military and civilian researchers at the Military Health System Research Symposium (MHSRS) in Kissimmee, FL to present and acquire new scientific knowledge resulting from military-unique research and development. The MHSRS is the premier military or civilian meeting that focuses specifically on the unique medical needs of the deployed Warfighter.
Among LIMBIC-CENC attendees were Teri Pogoda, Ph.D. who presented Potential Concussive Event Identification and Mild Traumatic Brain Injury Determination for Post-9/11 Veterans: A LIMBIC-CENC Study, highlighting ongoing efforts to improve the identification and understanding of mild traumatic brain injury among Veterans.
and Clara E. Dismuke-Greer, Ph.D., who spoke on the Economic Influence of Blast and Impact Potential Concussive Events on the Military Health System and Veterans Health Administration. Her work examined the broader economic implications of concussive injuries and their impact on healthcare systems serving military personnel and Veterans.
Through their participation, LIMBIC-CENC researchers contributed valuable insights to the military health research community while engaging with leading experts from across the nation to advance knowledge in service of Warfighter health and readiness.
